Love story: Bryan created an online giveaway for PRIDE month to feature one of his Etsy string art pieces. Austin entered the online giveaway through Instagram and won. Bryan messaged Austin on shipping details and they slowly began exchanging messages. When Bryan sent the giveaway to Austin he included a personalized hand written note to let him know he had been enjoying the recent online correspondence.
After exchanging numbers and chatting for a few months we decided to meet in person for the first time and go on a first date, to Dollywood. Besides the awkward care ride into the park together (we were both nervous and Austin forgot how to speak) everything else about the first date felt natural and comfortable. After the first date we tried to see each other about every month, as Austin was in TN and Bryan was in KY.
Proposal: Bryan and Austin share many loves, including Disney, Dolly, Camping, and of course CHRISTMAS! While on our annual ‘Kidd Family’ Christmas vacation, Bryan proposed to Austin outside of The Christmas Place, in front of a giant Christmas tree (the place they first met before going on their first date to Dollywood).
Two weeks later Austin returned the gesture by proposing to Bryan at Kidd Family Farm, while setting up for a ‘Breakfast with Santa’ event. A place where they have spent countless hours working together and growing their relationship up to this point.
Advice: When Austin and I were reflecting back on our wedding day, we were both surprised to admit that the ceremony was the most meaningful and memorable part of our day. We were intentional in crafting a personalized order of ceremony with our officiant, and we’re glad we took time to do this.
